Sleep is like a battle
Please rest baby rattle
One sheep two sheep three sheep
How many will it take to sleep?
“Mama we are scared
Monsters will lurk about
They come swimming like trout!”
Mama says “SH! Listen!”
Silence, then sob-sob-sob
“Boo-Hoo” the monsters cry,
“We only want to play”
Next time you go to play
Please invite the monsters
Sleep is like a battle
Please rest and do not play.
My children put up a tussle when it comes to bedtime and this seems like a great 'poem' to share with them. Hopefully they will see that they've been misunderstanding the infamous "under the bed monster". Keep up the great work!
